Director of Membership & Marketing

The Director of Membership will act as the Sales Manager and will be responsible for actively generating club revenue while developing and motivating the staff. They will manage the sales team (including:  hiring, firing, and performance management issues).

  • Provide leadership to the sales team Establish, monitor and analyze the sales budget. Sell membership. Lead the corporate membership program.
  • Implement programs for members and clients that will help build a better community at our club while increasing our revenue.
  • Evaluate the programs including on-line survey development, web page updating, e-mailing participants, responding to surveys, compiling survey results, completing program/budget recap report, submitting payment for hired staff/instructors.
  • Assist with all fitness center programming.
  • Continually enhance fitness center appearance through bulletin boards, fliers and web pages.
  • Assist with the supervision of the fitness center, staff, operations and programs.
  • Perform facility and equipment maintenance processes.
  • Interview potential staff/instructors
  • Help create advertisements (mass e-mails, fliers, web page, newsletter articles, bulletin boards)
  • Work within a budget and help with forecasting budgets, setting participation/financial goals, assigning task/training coworkers if needed, negotiating fees, establishing contracts

 
Job Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in corporate wellness management or commercial fitness center management.
  • 1-2 years wellness program development and implementation experience.
  • Professional and enthusiastic attitude. 
  • Ability to problem-solve, and make key decisions. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to provide high quality customer service.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency with industry standard word processing, spreadsheet, database, graphics, and presentation applications.
  • Ability to multi-task, works independently and with a team, and performs detail-oriented functions.
